Remedies with parsley for puffy eyelids

Swollen eyelids can have a variety of causes. You may also remember waking up one morning and discovering your eyelids were puffy for no reason.

Puffy eyelids occur when too much fluid builds up in the soft tissue that surrounds the eyes. This may be due to an allergic reaction, inflammation, or improper diet.

If you have occasional puffy lids too, you’ll be happy to hear that there is a simple, natural cure for this.

However, if you suffer from swelling in the eye area very often, you should consult a doctor so that he can determine the exact cause.

Puffy eyelids: possible causes

Probably the most common cause of puffy eyelids are not restful, long nights : sleep disorders cause tired eyes as well as long partying. The tissue in the area around the eyes is then easily inflamed and this is especially true for the eyelids.

The tissue must be made to swell. Covering up with make-up only helps initially, but then makes the situation even worse. Parsley is great as a remedy.

But first let’s take a look at other possible causes.

Puffy eyelids
  • Cry.
  • Allergic reactions (due to diet or the environment, e.g. dust, pollen, animal hair).
  • Intolerance to cosmetic products that were used on the eyes a short time before.
  • Conjunctivitis.
  • Infections in the eye area.
  • Barley grains.
  • The chlorine used in swimming pools.
  • Long hours in front of the screen – the television, the computer, the phone.

Benefits of parsley to treat puffy eyelids

parsley

vitamin C

  • Parsley (and rose hip leaves too, by the way!) Contain significantly more vitamin C than lemon. Vitamin C is essential for the health and beauty of the skin.
  • Vitamin C is required for collagen synthesis and helps reduce swelling. Vitamin C therefore makes the skin glow and gives it back firmness.
  • Dermatologists recommend using it directly on the skin so that the effect is more intense.
  • Vitamin C oxidizes very quickly, especially in sunlight. Therefore, the treatment should be carried out in the evening, when there is time for it to work.

Vitamin K

  • Vitamin K is one of our closest allies when it comes to treating puffy eyelids. It strengthens the small capillaries and stimulates microcirculation so that the tissue can swell.
  • Vitamin K promotes blood clotting and thus, for example, the healing of hematomas.

Chlorophyll

  • Chlorophyll has a healing effect on inflammation. It ensures that the cells are supplied with all the necessary nutrients and that toxins can be removed.
  • Parsley is high in chlorophyll. Our skin benefits from this ingredient as well as the underlying tissues. It stimulates skin regeneration.
  • It also has a regenerating effect on the eyes, for example on swollen lids.

How to prepare a remedy for treating the eyelids with parsley

Eyelids

Ingredients & aids

  • 3 stalks of parsley
  • ½ cup of water (125 ml)
  • 2 cotton pads
  • 1 cup

preparation

  • The preparation is very easy. First, the water is warmed up a little to prepare an infusion with parsley. Give it ten minutes to cook, then another 15 minutes to steep and cool to ambient temperature.
  • As soon as it is only lukewarm, we moisten the cotton pads in this preparation.
  • Apply the parsley infusion to your eyes, the lids as well as the skin around the eyes. Most of the time, the swelling is not limited to the upper eyelid.
  • Let the cotton pads sit on each lid for 15 minutes.
  • The parsley should not get in the eyes, it is intended for external treatment. So relax and close your eyes while you do the treatment.
  • When you have completed them, rinse your face with cold water. The temperature difference helps reduce inflammation and thus the swelling of the tissue. The cold water also stimulates blood circulation.

You will see how effective this inexpensive remedy with parsley is for puffy eyelids!
