Listen To Your Gut Feeling!

It is often better to listen to your gut feeling than to others!

Listen to your gut feeling!

The gut feeling can of course also be deceptive, but you’ve probably already made the experience that you should have listened to it more often when it comes to important decisions or those around you.

Get involved, listen to your own voice, your own intuition, your very own gut feeling !

What is the gut feeling?

With gut feeling you actually mean nothing more than intuition, i.e. to grasp, understand or decide things without thinking about them or following logical conclusions.

One relies on a feeling that arises in the subconscious and cannot be logically explained.

Decisions are made from the gut without really checking or understanding all of the connections.

Emotions and properties are recorded and evaluated by the subconscious in fractions of a second.

Some also speak of a flash of inspiration when a completely new idea suddenly appears, which then contributes to the decision without it being able to be thoroughly examined or explained rationally.

What does the research say?

Researchers think of themselves as sober people who probably prefer to trust studies, statistics, and research rather than their gut instincts.

But it was they who discovered amazing things. “The more complex a decision, the more you should trust your unconscious,” says a Dutch social psychologist, Ap Dijksterhuis.

This is astonishing, because those who decide on their gut instinct often ignore information that is regarded as important and simply decide “just like that” on the basis of their own, secret wealth of experience.

Such decisions are made very quickly, even before the mind has logically analyzed and fathomed the pros and cons, the decision has long been made in the subconscious.

Study results show that – statistically speaking you make better decisions in the long term if you listen to your gut feeling.

Our fear often dominates us

How many decisions have you made in which fear was a key factor? Definitely a lot.

But where did the fear come from? Most of the time, so the researchers, fear of the failure of a project, of exercising a “strange idea” or of realizing a dream is persuaded by our dear fellow human beings.

If test subjects had made the decision before hearing the opinion of others, it would have been more positive and more daring. Because our subconscious knew that there was no danger, because this often only exists in the minds of others and not in our Bach feeling.

So it is not our own fear that (does not) make a decision, but that of the people we ask for advice. So many projects are not realized and many dreams do not come true because we have forgotten to listen to our inner voice.

Instructions for intuitive decisions

We’re not saying that every gut decision you make is actually the really better one, but as you now know, statistically it actually is.

So before you make important decisions, be it personal or professional, try to listen to yourself and your intuition.

What questions should I ask myself?

Because many of us have long forgotten this, because we have been taught to make decisions based on the expectations, fears, opinions and concerns of our fellow human beings, the following list could help you:

  1. Am i honest And not to others, but to yourself? Are you lying to yourself with your own thoughts right now? What exactly is your belly saying Listen carefully!
  2. Is the decision productive for me personally? Does the decision really fit what I really want in my most secret interior? Only you know your secret dreams, only you know the path that leads to their fulfillment. Is the decision productive in this regard?
  3. What are the alternatives? Some situations seem hopeless. You are trapped by emotions and forget to recognize all alternatives on the right and left of the path. Is this decision really the only one available to you?
  4. What are the consequences? If your gut instinct tells you something that sounds strange at first, does it have any negative consequences if you choose the way your gut suggests? Mostly not, so why are you hesitating?
  5. What exactly is your belly telling you? Sometimes you mistake gut feelings for emotions, which are not the same thing. Let your negative or positive emotions fade away, free yourself from them and go inside, listen very carefully to your stomach: what, please, is it really saying?

Maybe with these 5 points you will be able to listen to your gut feeling more often in the future! Only you have the key in your hand!
