Detox with green tea, lemon and stevia

Why a detox?

It should be emphasized that this regimen is not aimed at weight loss. A special diet would be required for this. However, if you do a detox every two months, you can lose some weight at the same time.

Green tea

Green tea has a strong antioxidant effect, which delays cell aging. It is also an excellent aid against fluid retention, cleanses the skin of impurities and helps with allergy symptoms.

This delicious tea is also anti-cancer, which is why many nutritionists recommend it on a daily basis. Even if green tea combats stress, it has a slightly stimulating effect.

This citrus fruit has excellent cleansing properties. Even if it is acidic, it has an alkaline effect and helps dissolve fats. The lemon is highly recommended for cardiovascular diseases.

Stevia

Stevia is one of the most natural sweeteners available today and has no calories. This plant sugar has a slightly reducing effect on blood pressure and strengthens the body’s natural defenses.

Stevia tastes similar to liquorice. Even small amounts are enough to sweeten a dish. Stevia is also available refined – even if the aforementioned health-promoting properties are lost, Stevia in refined form is not as harmful as white sugar or artificial sweeteners.

How is the detoxification regimen carried out?

Prepare 2 liters of green tea daily: Use 5 tea bags or 5 teaspoons of the green tea for this.

  • The water should not boil (it should not be above 80ÂșC). Let the tea steep for a maximum of 4 minutes.
  • Then remove the tea bags or sieve the tea and add the juice of 2 fresh lemons.
  • Sweeten the tea with a few drops of pure stevia extract as required.
  • If you want to use dried stevia leaves instead of the extract, you can simply add them to the preparation of the green tea.

Every day you drink this amount (about 8 glasses) as follows:

  • On an empty stomach in the morning:  2 glasses
  • During the morning:  3  glasses
  • During the afternoon:  3 glasses

You should always have this tea outside of a meal: half an hour before you eat or an hour and a half after you eat.

Please note

This detox should be carried out for two to four weeks, depending on the results achieved.

During this time you do not have to go on a diet, but you should avoid the  following harmful foods or reduce them as much as possible:

  • Sugar and sweets
  • refined flour
  • Fried and hardened fat
  • Ready meals
  • Cold cuts and fat cheeses
  • Stimulant foods: alcohol, roasted coffee, black tea, colas
